Intro
Vodafone Call+ is a free rich communication service launched by Vodafone in 2015, designed to enhance traditional voice calls with multimedia capabilities. Built on the Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard, the same technology powering Vodafone's Message+ client, Call+ allowed users to share photos, maps, contacts, locations, and live video in real time during a phone call, as well as add subject lines, importance indicators, and attachments before a call was even answered. All shared content was stored in an interactive call log accessible post-call.

Call+ was first commercially available as a native dialler integration on Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, Z5, and Z5 Compact handsets, with a standalone Android app available for other devices via the Google Play Store. An iOS version was in development. Vodafone was the first UK carrier to deploy advanced RCS-based calling features, with the service also launching internationally, including in Portugal. Calls were charged at standard rates, with live video offered free through the end of 2015.

The service positioned Vodafone's native calling experience as a direct competitor to VoIP and messaging platforms such as Skype, WhatsApp, and Google Hangouts, by bringing rich messaging functionality into the traditional carrier voice call.

I was leading UX and UI design efforts for this project, reviewing requirements and suggesting changes to improve the overall user experience. My responsibilities also included designing UI animations, producing visual assets, and creating redlines and developer hand-off specs to ensure accurate implementation across supported devices and the standalone Android app.
